Clutch System Bleed

CAUTION: Before bleeding, the brake fluid reservoir must be filled between the MIN and MAX markings with brake fluid. Also, the master cylinder must be bled first, then the slave cylinder.

1. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system using brake filling and bleeding unit VAG 1238 B. If this unit is not available, use a suitable brake pressure bleeder.
2. To bleed the system, use bleeder hose VAG 1238 B3 or equivalent. Approximate length of hose should be 670 mm (26.38 in.).

3. Connect the bleeder hose to pressure hose of bleeding device retaining reservoir "A".

4. Attach bleeder hose and open bleeder valve. The valve is located on slave cylinder "B".

CAUTION: Ensure that the bleeder hose remains properly seated during the bleeding process.

5. Depress the clutch pedal several times after completing the bleeding process.
