      Check for damage and/or leaks.
    Brake Pad
      Check pad thickness.
Diagnose/Test
    Vehicle
      Road Test: During road test; check kickdown, braking, steering, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, power accessories and electrical systems. After road test; check idle speed, engine for leaks, automatic transmission fluid level, power steering fluid level, exhaust system for damage and leaks, Diagnostic Trouble Code Memory, erase as necessary.
    Data Link Connector
      Check Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) Memory with VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) and erase if necessary.
Inspect
    Tires
      Check condition and pressure (including spare).
    Shift Interlock, A/T
      Check operation including park/neutral position switch.
    Power Steering Fluid
      Check level, add as necessary.
    Manual Transmission/Transaxle
      Check fluid level, check for leaks.
    Fluid - A/T
      As equipped. Check final drive for leaks. With 01M replace seal on plug after each inspection.
    Exhaust System
    Differential Fluid - A/T
      Check level, add if necessary.
    Coolant
      Green coolant used through late 1996. Late 1996 through 1997 uses red coolant.
    Constant Velocity Joint Boot
    Brake Fluid
      Check fluid level, add if necessary.
    Battery
      Check electrolyte level and add if necessary. DO NOT attempt to check or add fluid to a maintenance free battery.
Replace
    Oil Filter, Engine
    Engine Oil
    Cabin Air Filter / Purifier
Rotate
    Wheels
      Rotate front to rear.
