Measured Value Block, Reading
REQUIREMENTS- Battery Positive Voltage (B+) OK.
- Fuse no. 22 (S22) OK.
- Ground (GND) connections for engine and transmission, which are located below lower part of intake manifold, are OK.
CHECKING TROUBLE CODE MEMORY
- Unclip cover for Data Link Connectors under heating / ventilation controls.
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) with VAG 1551/1 adapter harness.
- First connect black connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to black Data Link Connector.

NOTE:
- Operating modes 1 and 2 are displayed alternately.
- If no display appears, do not connect the white connector. In this case, check the voltage supply for the VAG 1551 Scan Tool.
- Connect white connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to white Data Link Connector (blue connector is not used).
- Start engine.
- Operate Scan Tool while observing display.
- Press button -1- for "Rapid data transfer" operating mode.
- Press buttons -0- and -1- to enter address word 01 for "Engine Electronics".
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.
- Press --> button.
- Press buttons -0- and -8- to select the "Read Measuring Value Block" function.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input indicated on display.

- Select desired display group number.
Example: Press buttons -0- and -1- to select display group 01.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

NOTE: With display group numbers 01 to 06, the respective display group number is shown without 0 on the display along with "Read Measuring Value Block". The measurements are displayed in actual values.
- To exit, press --> button.
- After exiting, press buttons -0- and -6- to select the "End Output" function.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.
