GROUP I





1 - Camshaft Sprocket
- For double chain -10-
- Removing and installing refer to "Camshafts, Removing and Installing". Service and Repair

2 - Clutch For Ignition Distributor
- Not for electronic high tension distribution

3 - Sensor Wheel
- For Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
- Contact surface of timing chain and sensor wheel must be dry when installing.
- Removing and installing refer to "Camshafts, Removing and Installing". Service and Repair

4-1OO Nm (74 ft lb)
- To remove and install counter hold with 24 mm open end wrench on camshaft.
- Oil bolt head contact surface when installing.

5 - Pivot Pin, 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
- For tensioner plate -8-

6 - Seal
- Replace.

7 - Chain Tensioner 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
- For double chain -10-
- Bleed before installing see Fig. 2 below.
- Turn engine only when chain tensioner is installed.

8 - Tensioner Plate
- For double chain -10-

9 - Sprocket
- For single chain -16-
- Installing refer to "Camshafts, Removing and Installing". Service and Repair

10 - Double Chain
- Mark direction of rotation before removing (installed position) see Fig. 1 below.
- Installing refer to "Camshafts, Removing and Installing". Service and Repair

12 - Sprocket
- For double chain -10-
- Installing refer to "Camshafts, Removing and Installing". Service and Repair
- Valve timing, adjusting refer to "Adjusting Valve Timing And Installing Timing Chains". Adjustments

13 - 10 Nm (7 ft lb)

14 - Chain Tensioner With Tensioning Plate
- For single chain -16-
- Before installing release locking spline in chain tensioner with small screw driver and press tensioning plate against chain tensioner.
- Rotate engine only with chain tensioner installed.

15 - Crankshaft Sprocket
- Integral part of crankshaft
- Ground down tooth aligned with main bearing joint = TDC for No.1 cyl. refer to "Adjusting Valve Timing And Installing Timing Chains". Adjustments

16 - Single Chain
- Mark direction of rotation (installation position) see Fig. 1 below.
- Installing refer to "Adjusting Valve Timing And Installing Timing Chains". Adjustments
- Valve timing, adjusting refer to "Adjusting Valve Timing And Installing Timing Chains". Adjustments

17-Guide Rail
- For single chain -16-
- Remove together with single chain.
- Installing refer to "Adjusting Valve Timing And Installing Timing Chains". Adjustments
- Valve timing, adjusting refer to "Adjusting Valve Timing And Installing Timing Chains". Adjustments

18 - Locating Pin Without Collar
- For guide rail -17-

19 - Locating Pin With Collar

20 - 2O Nm (15 ft lb)
- Insert with locking fluid D6

21 - 20 Nm (15, ft lb)

22 - Guide Rail
- For double chain -1O-

23 - 1O Nm (7 ft lb)
- Insert with locking fluid D6

Mark single and double chains before removing them (paint or mark an arrow in direction of normal engine rotation).

CAUTION: Do not mark the chain using a center punch. Do not use any method that scratches or deforms the metal surfaces.

Double Chain Tensioner, Bleeding

Push wire (O.8 mm dia.) through hole of pressure piston (arrow) to ball valve and press pressure piston in housing down to stop.

NOTE: If the pressure piston moves out again, repeat bleeding procedure.
