Fuel Supply Unit, Disassembling and Reassembling

WARNING
Fire hazard! Do NOT smoke or have anything in area that can ignite fuel.






Requirement

- fuel supply unit removed

Disassembling

- unclip sensor for fuel level display from the upper housing section

- push harness connector for fuel gauge sending unit away from upper housing section using screwdriver and then unclip.

- disconnect supply hose -1- from the fuel pump and return hose -2- from the upper housing section

- note identification for supply and return hoses on the underside of the flange -3- during assembly






- unclip upper retaning ring -1- with screwdriver -2- at the - arrows -

- remove screws from upper housing section

- pull upper housing section out of the lower support using screwdriver


Note:
During assembly, moisten. O-ring of upper housing section using gasoline.

- remove screws from bayonet connection

- remove bayonet. connection and lower retaining ring

Note:
During assembly note the installed position of the lower retaining ring

- turn the fuel pump in the lower housing section to the right out of the damper pad

- pull fuel pump out of lower housing section

Assembling







- assembly of the fuel supply unit is the reverse of the disassembly sequence

- carefully pull upper and lower fuel pump sealing rings -arrows- into the upper and lower housing sections fasten on the top with retaining ring and the bottom with bayonet ring.
