Testing and Inspection From Jan. 1993

REQUIREMENTS

Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (DVOM).
Test Connector kit VW 1594 or Equivalent.
Refer to Tools and Equipment for test equipment specifications.


TEST PROCEDURE

- Disconnect the Camshaft Position Sensor harness connector.

- Connect DVOM to terminals 1 & 2 of the Camshaft Position Sensor using VW 1594 or Equivalent.

- Resistance between terminals 1 & 2 500 to 750 ohms

- Refer to On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) for fault code access.

- Refer to VAG 1598 Pin Out Box/ Electrical Checks, step #22, to test wiring.
