As of Aug. 1992, the support bracket for shifter and selector cables is changed. As of Oct. 1991, a compensator weight is installed on the transmission shift lever.

New:
Three bolts with additional mounting grommets, compensator weight installed on transmission shift lever.

Old:
Support bracket with two mounting points.





Support bracket for shift and selector cables, changed

1 - Support bracket

2 - Bolts

^ length new 32 mm old 20 mm
- 25 N-m (18 ft.lb.)

3 - Grommet

4 - Spacer

Note:

The new support bracket can be installed as of transmission manufacturing date 03 09 1.

Compensator weight, added





1 - Compensator weight

^ remove when adjusting shift mechanism.
^ provides for smoother shift movement.
^ only install with shift cable (item 4) in cars up to Oct. 91.

2 - Mounting nut for compensator weight

- 25 N-m (18 ft.lb.)

3 - Bolt with threaded stud
^ 25 N-m (18 ft.lb.)

4 - Shift cable, reinforced
^ install when using compensator weight .
^ to adjust orcheck gearshift mechanism See Repair Manual Group 34.





Clutch release lever, locking

New:
with locking bolt or bolt M8x35 (can also be used for previous transmissions)

Old:
with locking bolt or bolt M8x22

Note:
The hole for locking bolt is also the 3rd mounting for the support bracket for shift and selector cables.
