Service Action Campaign SW Replace Power Window Regulators

Dear Volkswagen Passat Owner:

We are working to advise you of a potential problem with the electric rear windows of your Passat vehicle.

Problem Description
Volkswagen has found that a plastic component fastening the regulator drive cable to the window could break. If this happens, the rear window could suddenly open and you would not be able to close it.

Remedy
We would Ike to correct this condition as soon as possible by installing new window regulators, at no cost to you. Please note that even if you have experienced the problem and a new regulator was installed, your vehicle would not have been equipped with the improved component.

Your Action
Please contact the Service Department of your authorized Volkswagen retail facility to schedule an appointment. Please present the enclosed Campaign Performance Authorization form when you arrive. The necessary work will take approximately three hours and will, of course, be free of charge.

Precaution Prior to Service
Until you have your Passat serviced, we ask that you not operate the rear windows of your car.

We regret any inconvenience this matter may cause; however, as part of our commitment to maintain your satisfaction with our product, we want to make sure that your Passat performs to your expectations.
