Airbag units, replacing following an accident

Accident involving activation of airbags Always replace the following components:

^ Driver's airbag unit
^ Passenger's airbag unit
^ Passenger's airbag cover (includes retaining frame)
^ Airbag Control Module-J234

Note
Always inspect the Airbag Control Module holder and replace it if damaged.

^ Airbag Spiral Spring-F138
^ Driver's seat belt
^ Front passengers seat belt (If in use at the time of accident)

CAUTION
Vehicles with Emergency Tensioning Seat Belt Retractors: After an accident in which one or both belt tensioners have been activated, both seat belts must be replaced (the belts will no longer retract).

In addition, the following must also be replaced if necessary (visual check):

^ All damaged components

Accident not involving activation of airbags

If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)-K75 does not indicate a malfunction, it is not necessary to replace any airbag component.

CAUTION
Check seat belts for damage separately.
