Condition
Extruded body side molding does not adhere after replacement.
May be caused by incorrect procedures used to install molding.
Production
^ Injection molded (black with fastening clips) body side moldings installed through October 1994 production.
^ Extruded body side moldings installed beginning November 1994 production.
Service
When installing extruded body side moldings:
Note:
The working temperature when attaching the moldings must be approx. 20°C (68°F).
- Clean exterior panels with isopropyl alcohol, treat with silicone remover and then rub dry.
- If necessary, warm molding and body surface with hot air blower prior to installation (should be warm to touch).
- Pull protective foil from back of molding and attach molding lightly.
- Press molding on evenly using a roller at approximately 10 lbs. of rolling pressure (one complete pass for each adhesive strip on molding is required).
Note:
Wait at least 24 hours before taking vehicle through car wash.
