^ See Repair Group 70 for information on removing/installing interior trim.
^ The radio anti-theft code is fixed (cannot be changed) and must be re-entered into the radio whenever power (B+) or Ground (GND) to the radio has been disconnected. See radio operating manual for proper coding sequence.
^ Use only authorized VW replacement radios and/or parts to ensure proper system performance and optimum reception.
^ When troubleshooting, replacing or repairing the stereo system, see appropriate wiring diagram as well as the installation instructions enclosed with the replacement part.

Stereo system, electrical interference suppression
The majority of the electrical consumers/components in the vehicle are suppressed to ensure minimal electrical interference with radio reception.
On vehicles equipped from the factory with a radio or radio prep wiring, the following components are also suppressed:
^ Coolant fan (V 7)
^ Windshield wiper motor (V)
^ Rear window wiper motor (V 12)
In addition, vehicles with a radio or radio prep wiring will have the
following additional Ground (GND) connections:
^ Ground strap from left wheel housing to hood
^ Ground strap from ignition coil (N152) to engine block (gasoline engine vehicles only)
