CAUTION! ALWAYS follow the safety precautions listed an the container.
Note: If there is a leak, the vacuum in the intake system will cause the leak detector spray to be drawn in with the unmetered air. The leak detector spray makes the mixture harder to ignite, which leads to a drop in engine speed (RPM) and a change in the Oxygen Sensor control value.
- Connect VAG 1367 engine tester with VAG 1367/8 inductive pick-up.
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) and, with engine idling, select "Rapid data transfer" operating mode and enter address word 01 for "Engine Electronics"

- Press buttons -0- and -8- to select the "Read Measuring Value Block" function.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

- Press button -0- twice to enter display group number 00, and press -Q- button to confirm input.
- Indicated on display

- Observe value displayed in display field 5 (Oxygen Sensor control) and note the range in which it fluctuates.
- Systematically spray parts of the Intake Air system with engine leak detector spray.
If the engine speed (RPM) drops:
- Check for leaks in the Intake Air system and repair as necessary.
