NOTE: During service procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.
COMPONENT NOTES
Bolt (2)
- Tighten to: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
Toothed Timing Belt (7)
- Identify running direction with felt marker before removing.
- Inspect for wear.
- Do not bend or kink.
- Refer to Timing Components.
Nut Tensioning Roller (8)
- For Semi Automatic Tensioning Roller Tighten to: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
- For Manual Tensioning Roller Tighten to: 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
Semi Automatic Tensioning Roller (10)
- Requires Basic Setting, refer to Timing Components.
Bolt (11)
- Tighten to: 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
Camshaft Sprocket (12)
- Loosen from tapered end of camshaft by tapping with hammer on mandrel inserted through hole of rear drive belt guard.
Bolt (13)
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
Bolt (15)
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
Injection Pump Sprocket (17)
- Refer to Powertrain Management.
Injection Pump (19)
- Refer to Powertrain Management.
Crankshaft Timing Belt Pulley Bolt (24)
- Tighten In Two Steps:
- Step One, Tighten to: 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.)
- Step Two, Turn An Additional: 90° (1/4 Turn).
Injection Pump Pulley Nut (25)
- Tighten to: 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
Belt Pulley (27)
- V-Belt Type For Water Pump.
Ribbed Drive Belt (28)
- Mark running direction before removing.
- Refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.
Belt-Pulley/Vibration Damper (29)
- Can only be installed in one position.
Pulley For Engine Coolant Pump (Water Pump) (31)
