Evaporator Drain Tube: Service and Repair

Evaporator Housing Water Drain Valve, Removing/Installing






1 - Firewall
2 - Evaporator housing
3 - Valve flap (shown lifted)
4 - Water drain valve
5 - 14 mm Allen wrench

Note: If water sprays from the dashboard air vents during A/C operation, check evaporator water drain valve for proper operation.

- lift up valve flap 3 and insert 14 mm Allen wrench 5 into valve outlet
- rotate valve 45° (1/8 turn) and pull from evaporator housing
- clean any dirt or foreign matter from valve tube
- clean any dirt, wax, or undercoating from valve flap 3
- check valve flap for proper operation
- install valve in reverse order of removal
