Heater and Air Conditioner Housing and Air Ducts





Note: A/C system must be discharged before removing components marked with an asterisk (*)

1 Heater, A/C fuse (S 23)
2 A/C relay (J 32)
3 Seal *
4 Heater core *
- install seals around perimeter of heater core so there are no gaps
- if heater core does not lock into place during installation, fasten to heater box using screws through the tabs on top of the heater core.
- after removing heater core, drain entire cooling system and refill with new coolant.
5 Connecting duct

8 Fresh Air Blower Series Resistance (N 24)

- to remove: first remove instrument panel and footwell air outlets -30-

- to remove: first remove center console, instrument panel bracket, A/C (ventilation) control head -29-, center vent -20- and shelf below glove compartment

- removing/installing,
30 Footwell air outlets
- to remove: first remove center console, instrument panel bracket, and pedal cover -32-

- to remove: first remove pedal cover -32- and footwell air outlets -30-

- remove light switch
- using needle nose pliers, carefully pull grill -2- from housing -1-
- remove screws and remove housing -1-
- install in reverse order of removal

- using needle nose pliers, carefully pull grill -1- from housing
- remove radio
- remove A/C (ventilation) control head trim panel
- remove A/C (ventilation) control head -2-
- remove four screws -arrows- and remove vent housing
- install in reverse order of removal

- remove A/C ventilation control head
- disengage retaining tabs (arrows) and push switch forward
- install in reverse order of removal

- remove glove compartment
- remove connector -2- and screw -3-
- remove series resistance -1-
- install in reverse order of removal noting the following:
- apply adhesive Part No. AMV 176 000 05 or equivalent to mating surface of series resistance -1- before installing

- remove glove compartment
- remove connector -1-
- remove clip -3-
- remove four screws (arrows) and remove fresh air blower -2- downwards
- install in reverse order of removal noting the following:
- apply adhesive Part No. AMV 176 000 05 or equivalent to mating surface of fresh air blower before installing

4 - Sensor tube - marked with tape at 330 mm (13.0 in.) for insertion depth into evaporator
