Steering: Service Precautions

WARNING: Prior to any work on Airbag, Airbag wiring, Steering Wheel, Steering Column or any component/system that may involve the Airbags, refer to "Air Bag Systems/Service Precautions" for more information.

CAUTION: Before working on the electrical system:
- Determine the correct coding for the anti-theft radio.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
- Be sure the ignition is switched OFF (also applies when connecting the battery). Failure to do so may damage the Engine Control Module (ECM).
- Disconnecting the battery causes the basic setting of the ECM to be erased. This may result in driveability problems.
