CAUTION: To avoid damage to the rack and pinion, DO NOT attempt to remove tie rods from an installed gear.






Check/adjust tie rod length, left side only
All except vehicles with VR6 engine:
a = 395.0 ±1mm (15.5 ±0.039 in)

Vehicles with VR6 engine:
a = 413.1 ±1 mm (16.36 ±0.039 in)

Note:
When left tie rod length is disturbed by removal/replacement of the tie rod end, check/adjust the length to specifications.
When replacing the left tie rod always check/adjust the length of the new part before installing.
