Rear window regulator, repairing


Removing rear window regulators. Refer to Window Regulator Removal






Remove screws for gear cover arrows fully







Pull cable drum off gear housing by hand in direction of arrow by tilting slightly in alternate directions.







Pull cover off new motor in direction of arrow

Note: Surfaces/parts coated with grease must not come into contact with dust or dirt. Regrease only with original grease, Part No. G 000 450 02.






Pull drive gear off gear shaft in direction of arrow. Note spacer washer included.






Caution: The three damping elements 1 must be installed accurately into the recesses of the cable drum.

Install drive gear 2 into cable drum
Install spacer washer 3 onto drive gear.






Check that cable is correctly positioned on cable drum.






Install motor for window regulator together with cable drum in direction of arrow.






If it is not possible to fit together gear housing with cable drum as far as stop, alter position / attitude of drive gear by pushing follower slightly so that drive gear engages.






Install securing screws and tighten in specified order (1 to 5) and torque to 3 Nm (27 in. lb).

Note: Perform function check before installing. Replacement of the mechanical part (linkage/cable) is performed in the same manner.
