Checking the Headlight Washer System

Test Condition:
^ Fuse no. 5 (15A), on fuse/relay panel OK

For Troubleshooting is Required:
^ Test system VW 1466
^ Multimeter Fluke 83 (US 1119)

Preparation for Troubleshooting
- Remove headlight washer system relay J39 (production control number 33) from relay location 7.

Troubleshooting Procedure
- Perform test steps according to table.
- If specified value/test result is obtained, proceed to next step (test result OK).
- If specified value/test result is not obtained, use table for troubleshooting and repair.
- Use valid wiring diagram.
- Disconnect test leads after each step.

NOTE
- If malfunction has not been eliminated after performing steps 1 to 4, replace the headlight washer system relay J39.
- After repairing malfunction, perform functional test of headlight washer system.
