How to Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's)

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory, Interrogating:

- Connection and Use of Test Equipment

V.A.G. Display:

- (function selection):
Press keys -0- and -2- (the function "Interrogate fault memory" is entered with 02).

V.A.G. Display:

- Confirm entry with the Q key.

V.A.G. Display:

- The number of stored malfunctions or "No malfunction recognized" appears in the display.
- Press -> key.
- The stored malfunctions are displayed and printed out one after the other. (Compare to DTC tables). [1][2]Connection and Use of Test Equipment
- After the -> key is pressed, the program moves to the initial position as with "No malfunction recognized":

V.A.G. Display:

- (function selection):
- End output (function 06)
- Switch off ignition and separate DLCs.

NOTE: If a malfunction was recognized:
- 1. Correct malfunction.
- 2. Interrogate DTC Memory (function 02).
- 3. Erase DTC Memory (function 05).
