Power Locks: Testing and Inspection
NOTE: On vehicles equipped with individual door opening, start by disconnecting the wire to terminal 8 at the 12-pin connector on central locking system pump and control module V69.Checking Infrared Remote Control (not applicable to USA/CDN models)
Synchronizing the Key
If the vehicle has power windows, synchronizing is possible with closed windows only.
If the vehicle cannot be opened by using the infrared sender button, it is possible that their is no correspondence between key code and module code of the vehicle. This can happen if the sender button of the key is often used outside the system area.
The key must be synchronized again. The synchronizing procedure must not exceed 20 seconds:
- Insert key in door lock and turn key three times towards front (direction of unlocking).
The key must be kept 0.5 seconds in unlocking position. Remove key from door lock.
- After removing the key, it must be kept towards interior mirror within 5 seconds.
- During this time press and hold the closing button of the key.
- Press opening button three times, then release closing button. The key is coded again.
To control the system all safety buttons are moved shortly up and down.
A second key can be coded in addition by performing the last three steps of the synchronizing procedure. The synchronizing procedure for the second key has to be started within 15 seconds and must be performed immediately after synchronizing the first key.
This procedure must also not exceed 20 seconds.

Central Locking System does not Close or Open
Test Conditions:
^ Fuse no, 21 (15A) OK
^ Fuse no, 16(10A) OK
^ Bi-pressure pump system OK.
^ Make central locking system pump and control module V 69 accessible
NOTE: If one or more actuators do not open or close, check if bi-pressure pump works more than five seconds and pumps again after a short period of time. If this is the case the pump is leaking, which has to be repaired at first.
