Installation

1. Clean hub splines of transmission input shaft and apply a light coat of lithium grease or equivalent.
2. When replacing the transmission, check for correct positioning of the intermediate plate.
3. Check to make sure that the engine/transmission alignment dowel sleeves are in place in the cylinder block. Replace if necessary.
4. Install engine/transmission mounts so that they are free of tension.
5. Installation of the transmission is in reverse order of removal.
6. Check the transmission oil level.
7. Check the operation of the clutch cable automatic adjustment mechanism.
8. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specifications.
9. Adjust the shift linkage.
