AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMINGDo not expose airbag units to temperatures above 212°F for even brief periods while handling them during a repair process. Keep unit clear of all heat sources.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and cover negative terminal during all work on airbag system.
2. Disconnect RED voltage supply connector marked ``airbag'', located behind instrument panel.
3. Wait 20 minutes to allow airbag system capacitor to discharge prior to performing services involving airbag system components.
