TDI System Current Supply

Special Tools, Testers And Auxiliary Items:
- VAG 1598/18 Test Box
- Fluke 83 multimeter (or equivalent)
- VW 1594 adaptor kit
- Wiring diagram

Test Requirements:
- Battery voltage OK

Test Sequence:
- Switch OFF ignition





- Connect VAG 1598/18 Test Box to ECM wiring harness
- Bridge sockets 42 + 45 with jumper wires from VW 1594 adaptor kit
- Measure voltage between sockets:
45 + 1
68 + 1
23 + 1
23 + 24
Specification: approx. battery voltage

If specification not obtained:
- Check voltage supply relay (J317) terminal 30
- Check wiring connections for open circuit, short circuit and transfer resistance at terminals using wiring diagram

If wiring and relay OK:
- Replace Diesel direct injection system ECM J248
- Display the readiness code

If DTC memory was erased:
- Create readiness code again
