NOTE: During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.
COMPONENT NOTES
Bolt (1)
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
O-ring (3)
- Always replace.
- Lubricate before installing.
Intermediate Shaft Thrust Washer Screw (7)
- Insert with locking fluid D6, or equivalent.
Oil Pump (8)
- Coat oil pressure pipe at cylinder block and oil pump housing with sealer part No. AMV 188 001 02.
Bolt (9)
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
Bolt (10)
- Always replace.
- Install with locking fluid "D6" or equivalent.
Oil Drain Plug (11)
- Tighten to: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
Seal (12)
- Always replace.
Oil Spray Jet (13)
- For piston cooling.
- Opening pressure: 2.0 bar (29 psi).
Oil Pan Bolt (14)
- Tighten to: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
Oil Pan Gasket (15)
- Replace if damaged.
- Before fitting gasket, coat pan flange and cylinder block with "D2", or equivalent.
Oil Pan (16)
- Clean sealing surfaces before installing.
Oil Cooler (17)
- Coat contact area to flange outside the seal with sealer AMV 188 100 02, or equivalent.
- Ensure clearence between adjacent components.
Oil Cooler Cover (18)
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
Oil Filter Housing Gasket (19)
- Always replace.
- Note installation position.
- Oil before installing.
Dipstick (21)
- The oil level must not be above the max. mark on the dipstick.
Guide Tube 22)
- Secure with bolt to intake manifold lower section.
Oil Check Valve (23)
- Tighten to: 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
- Note installed position.
- Clean as required.
