Coding Control Module

Coding Airbag Control Module:
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool. Testing and Inspection (On Board Diagnostics)
- Switch ignition on.
- Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75 lights up continuously.
- Press key -1- for operating mode.

- Press keys -1- and -5- to select vehicle system to be tested - "Airbag"

- Press -Q- key to confirm input.

- Press -> key.

- Press keys -0- and -7- to input address word for "coding Airbag Control Module"

V.A.G. Display:





- Press -Q- key to confirm input.

V.A.G. Display:





- Input code number (vehicle specific, e.g. 00066)
- Press -Q- key to confirm input.

V.A.G. Display:





- The display shows the Airbag Control Module identification number with a letter index (e.g. "B", the code number and the shop code)
- If the display specified appears and the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp K75 goes out, the coding is complete.

End Function:
- Press -> key.





- Press keys -0- and -6- to select the address word for "end output"
- Press -Q- key to confirm input.

NOTE: If the Airbag Control Module code number is not accepted, the following error message will appear:





- In this case, the Airbag Control Module has not been programed with the data required for the vehicle. Coding is therefore not possible. The MIL K75 stays on.
- Check if the correct control module was installed or if an incorrect code number was used.
