Readiness Code Generating (VW Drive Cycle)



READINESS CODE, CREATING

Note:
^ Do NOT switch OFF engine during the test sequence.
^ If the test procedure sequence is interrupted, or not adhered to, the readiness code will not be generated.
^ For this work step, the vehicle is revved up when stationary, therefore; apply hand brake and select auto trans neutral range selection.

- Check DTC memory.

If a DTC is stored

- Erase DTC memory.

Test requirement
^ Engine Coolant Temperature 25° C minimum.

Test sequence

- Start engine and rev-up to 2200 RPM using tach display.

At an engine speed of 2200 RPM minimum:

- Release accelerator pedal and allow engine to idle (approx. 900 RPM).

- Switch OFF engine and wait approx. 10 seconds.

- Start engine and with vehicle stationary rev-up to 2200 RPM (rev counter display).

- At an engine speed of 2200 RPM minimum, release throttle and allow engine to idle (approx. 900 RPM).

- Display readiness code.


If DTC memory has been erased

- Create readiness code again.

If readiness code still not OK

- Perform work steps again.
