Servicing Instruments
CAUTION: Before working on the electrical system obtain radio security code and disconnect the battery ground (GND) strap.NOTE: All components in the instrument cluster; (with the exception of the printed circuit) can be removed and installed from the front without removing the complete housing.
Individual Instruments, Removing:
- Carefully remove grilles -1- Using long-nosed pliers.
- Remove 5 screws -arrows- and remove instrument cluster trim.
- Remove instrument cluster cover screws -1-.
- Pull out trip odometer reset button and remove cover from instrument cluster.
1- Fuel gauge and coolant temperature gauge with digital clock or multi-function indicator (MFI).
2- Speedometer, mechanical or electrical
3- Tachometer
- Pull instruments -1 and 3- forward out of housing.
- Pull the electrical speedometer out forwards (only pushed in) to remove.
- Release mechanical speedometer (securing screws -A-) and remove.
