Wiper Switch: Service and Repair
Steering Column Layout1- Driver air bag
2- Hex nut 40 Nm (29 ft lb)
3- Steering wheel with coil spring for air bag
4- Steering column switch securing screws
5- Switch for turn signals, cruise control system, high and low beam head light, flasher and emergency light switch
6- Switch for windshield wiper and wipe/wash operation
7- Column tube
8- Steering column
9- Support ring
10- Steering column lock housing securing bolt 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
11- Steering lock housing
12- Ignition/starter switch. Remove steering lock housing, then remove securing screws
13- Contact ring
14- Lock cylinder
15- Spring
16- Clamping washer
Windshield Wiper Switch Replacement

Caution: Before working on the electrical system:
Determine the correct coding for the anti-theft radio.
Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
Be sure the ignition is switched OFF (also applies when connecting the battery). Failure to do so may damage the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Disconnecting the battery causes the basic setting of ECM to be erased. This may result in driveability problems.
Removing:
1. Remove steering wheel.
2. Remove securing screws -arrows-.
3. Remove connector to turn signal and windshield wiper switch.
4. Remove turn signal and windshield wiper switch from the steering column.
5. Separate windshield wiper switch from turn signal switch.
