Steering and Suspension: Application and ID

The "Base" suspension is used on Passat models with the 1.9L diesel and 2.0L gas engines.

The "Plus" suspension is used on Passat models with the V6 2.8L engine.

The following components are different when comparing the Plus suspension with the Base suspension:

- Control arm
- Ball joint
- Wheel bearing housing
- Stabilizer bar
- Drive shaft
- Brake disc
- Hub
- Wheel and tie rods
