Replacement After an Accident
The following components must always be replaced after an accident involving activation of airbag.
^ Driver's side airbag unit
^ Passenger's side airbag unit
^ Airbag Control Module (J234) with holder
^ Airbag Spiral Spring (F138)
^ Driver's side seat belt
^ Front passenger's side seat belt (if in use at the time of the accident)
In addition, the following must also be replaced if necessary (visual check):
^ All damaged components
NOTE: When replacing either airbag unit or the Airbag Control Module (J234), see your Parts Department for the proper registration procedure.
Accident not involving activation of airbag
- If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) does not indicate any malfunction, it is not necessary to replace the airbag components.
- The seat belts should be checked separately.
- After replacing the airbag units or the airbag control module, attach stickers (only tear-off strips) to the registration card and return the card for registration.
