Disposal of Airbag (Vehicles Returning to Service)

CAUTION: The storage, transportation and disposal of air bag units are subject to the laws for flammable solids.

Disposal of Air Bag units:
- Activate air bag units (gas generators): remove an active (not deployed) air bag unit carefully from the vehicle and return to the Warranty Parts Test Center for proper disposal. DO NOT deploy air bag in vehicle!
- Deployed air bags: deployed air bags do not have to be disposed of as hazardous waste but can be discarded in the normal manner. However, it is recommended to have the unit recycled.
