Vehicles with emergency tensioning seat belt retractors
CAUTION!
- Testing, removing, installing and repair work may only be performed by qualified personnel.
- Belt tensioner components may be neither opened nor repaired; always use new parts
- Belt tensioner units which have been dropped on the floor must not be installed into a vehicle.
- Belt tensioner units that are mechanically damaged (dents, cracks) must be replaced.
- The storage and transportation of belt tensioner units must comply with any regulations for explosive substances.
- Airbag units which have not been activated should be marked and returned to the manufacturer for disposal (use airbag transport container).
- Belt tensioners that have ignited can be disposed of as normal scrap.
- The belt tensioner unit must be installed immediately after removing it from its packaging.
- Do not use tools with a hammer-type action to dismantle the belt tensioner.
CAUTION!
- If work is interrupted, return the tensioner unit its packaging.
- Do not leave the belt tensioner unit unattended if it has been removed from its packaging.
- The pyrotechnic propellant has no expiration date, i.e. it has an unlimited, maintenance-free life.
- The belt tensioner unit must not be treated with grease, cleaning solutions or similar substances.
- Belt tensioner units must not be exposed to temperatures above 10 °C (21 °F), even for short periods.
