Only maximum care, cleanliness and proper tools will assure satisfactory and successful transmission repairs. Follow all CAUTIONS and WARNINGS. Here is a summary of generally applicable instructions for individual repair operations which are also listed at various points in the service procedures.

Transmission
When you exchange an automatic transmission, check the ATF in the planetary transmission. You must also check the gear oil in the final drive. Top up as necessary. Refer to the applicable specifications.
^ When installing the transmission be sure that the dowel sleeves are installed correctly.
