Note: On the left-hand side of the intermediate flange there is an oil leak warning hole for the seals in the drive pinion and the intermediate flange.

Removing
- Remove transfer gearbox.
- Remove intermediate flange for front final drive.
- Drive seal out toward transfer gearbox using drift.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, when installing note the following:
- Check seal seat in intermediate flange for damage, rework if necessary.





- Slide seal, with open side (arrow) facing 3404 thrust piece.
- Drive seal in up to stop with 3404 thrust piece.
- Install intermediate flange for front final drive.
- Install transfer gearbox.
