Drive Plate Torque Specifications And Clearances:
Crankshaft, removing and installing
1-Bearing shells 1, 2, 4 and 5
^ For bearing caps without oil groove
^ For cylinder block with oil groove
- Do not interchange used bearing shells (mark)
2 - 65 Nm (48 ft lb) + 1/4 turn (90°) further
- Replace
- To measure radial clearance tighten to 65 Nm (48 ft lb) but no further
3 - Bearing cap
^ Bearing cap 1: Pulley end
^ Bearing cap 3 with recesses for thrust washers
^ Bearing shell retaining lugs cylinder block/bearing cap must be on the same side
4 - Bearing shell 3
^ For bearing cap without oil groove
^ For cylinder block with oil groove
5-Thrust washer
^ For bearing cap 3
- Note fixing arrangement
6 - Sensor wheel
^ for Engine Speed sensor
7 - 10 Nm (7 ft lb) + 1/4 turn (90°) further
Replace
8 - Fitted pin
^ Checking projection from crankshaft.
9 - Crankshaft
^ Axial clearance new: 0.07 to 0.17 mm
Wear limit: 0.37 mm
- Check radial clearance with Plastigage
New: 0.03 to 0.08 mm Wear limit: 0.17 mm
- Do not rotate the crankshaft when checking the radial clearance
^ Crankshaft dimensions
10-Thrust washer
^ for cylinder block, bearing 3
Crankshaft Dimensions:

Piston Ring Specifications:
Cylinder Head Torque Specifications:
- Tighten cylinder head in four stages in sequence
- 1. Tighten initially with torque wrench:
Stage I = 40 Nm (30 ft lb) Stage II = 60 Nm (44 ft lb)
- 2. Turn further with normal wrench:
Stage II - 1/4 turn (90° Stage IV - 1/4 turn (90°)
Notes:
^ Loosening cylinder head: Reverse sequence.
^ Re-torquing cylinder head after repairs is not necessary.
- After tightening the cylinder head, turn camshaft so camlobes for cyl. 1 point evenly upwards. Turn crankshaft, in direction of engine rotation, to TDC before installing toothed belt.
