Thermostat Removing and Installing

3 Engine Coolant Pump (Water Pump)
4 Gasket
5 Coolant Thermostat
6 Elbow Connection
7 O-ring
8 Retaining Clip
9 Bolt
10 Thermostat Flange
11 Pulley

Note:
During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.

Component Notes
1 Bolt Torque Specification: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
2 Pulley - Ribbed Drive Belt version.
3 Engine Coolant Pump - Check shaft for ease of movement.
4 Gasket - Always replace.
5 Coolant Thermostat
Checking:
Heat-up thermostat in boiling water
Opening commences approx: 87°C (188°F).
Ends approx: 102°C (215°F).
Opening lift: 7 mm (0.28 inch) minimum.
7 O-ring - Always replace.
9 Bolt. Torque Specification: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
11 Pulley - V-Belt version.
