Vehicle with automatic transmission only:
- Perform road test and exceed speed of 25 km/h (approx. 16 mph) once.
Then switch engine off and leave selector level in position 2, 3 or D.
Observe the safety measures during a road test.
NOTE: On vehicles with an automatic transmission, the CCS switch will not be supplied with voltage until the vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h (approx. 16 mph) and the selector lever is in position 2, 3 or D. Once the switch has been supplied with voltage it will also remain live at idle speed provided a driving range (except 1 or R) is selected.
- Check specified value for switch position from CCS operating switch in display field 4.
If the specified values are not obtained:
- Press -> button.
- Press buttons -0- and -6- to select "End Output" function 06 and press -Q- button to confirm input.
- Switch ignition off.
- Remove wiper arms and plenum chamber cover.
- Connect VAG1598/31 test box to Engine Control Module (ECM) wiring harness. Engine Control Module (ECM) is not connected by this action.
- Check wiring from Engine Control Module (ECM) to CCS operating switch for open or short circuits:
- Check DTC memory. If necessary, repair any malfunctions and erase DTC memory.
- Display readiness code.
If DTC memory has been erased or the Engine Control Module (ECM) was disconnected from permanent battery (B+) voltage, the readiness code must be generated again.
