Automatic Transmission, Slips When Shifting from 2nd to 3rd Gear

Condition

Transmission slips and then shifts hard into gear during the 2nd to 3rd shift.

May be caused by Transmission Control Module (TCM) software.

Service

If transmission diagnosis does not indicate repairs are necessary:

- Install new TCM Part No: 01M 927 733 MP, (software level 5060).

- The "MP" suffix part supersedes Part No: 01M 927 733 with suffix-DJ, JS, KR, MB and MH.

After TCM replacement, using the VAS 5051 or VAS 5052:

- Check and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

- Set Basic settings.
