INTAKE MANIFOLD FLAP, SERVICING

The intake manifold flap is closed for approx. 3 seconds when stopping engine and then opens again. This reduces the stop jolt.

1 - Intake manifold
2 - 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
3 - O-ring
- Always replace
4 - Connecting flange
- With exhaust gas recirculation valve and intake manifold flap
- Check the change-over mechanism for the intake manifold flap for ease of movement and function
5 - 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
6 - Gasket
- Always replace
7 - Connecting line
- To cooler for exhaust gas recirculation.
8 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
9 - Vacuum control element
- Checking Testing and Inspection
- Do not damage operating rod when installing
10 - Change-over Valve for Intake Manifold Flap (N239)*
- Check the changeover of the intake manifold flap. Testing and Inspection
11 - Vacuum hose
