Work Procedure
WORK PROCEDURECAUTION:
To prevent damage to trim cover, the vehicle should be at room temperature.
- Remove lower B-pillar trim cover -2- from B-pillar -7- by prying cover around B-pillar at the top and then along the sides.
- Lightly pull B-pillar trim cover upward and inward to remove locking hooks -4- out from the sill panel -6- and remove the trim cover from the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Prevent damaging the locking hooks -4-.
- On the back side of the trim cover, if the retaining clips -1- are present, cut plastic post to remove clips and discard clips.
- Remove all the matting material -8- (if present) and properly dispose of it.
Note:
On some vehicles where glue was used on the matting material, a general purpose adhesive cleaner (3M #08987 or equivalent) can assist in the removal of any glue on the trim cover.
WARNING:
DO NOT SMOKE, WORK NEAR HEATER OR HAVE ANYTHING IN THE AREA THAT COULD IGNITE THE CLEANER.
If plastic retaining clip -3- came oft the B-pillar, remove clip from trim cover and reinstall into slot in B-pillar.
Thoroughly clean any loose material from the slots in the sill panel and retractor area
Reinstall B-pillar trim cover
Repeat procedure on the opposite side of the vehicle
Replacement Time/Reimbursement
To ensure prompt reimbursement, use the correct reimbursement code applicable to the work performed. Recall reimbursement claims will only be paid for vehicles which display code UF in the V-Crest system at the time of repair.
