Passengers Side Air Bag

Passenger's Side Airbag:

1 - Hex bolt
2 - Cover
3 - Retaining frame
4 - Hex bolt - Torque to: 6.5 Nm (58 in lb)
5 - Airbag unit connector
6 - Air vent
7 - Air venting housing
8 - Passenger's side airbag unit
9 - Guide pin

Removal:

CAUTION: On vehicles equipped with an anti-theft radio, make sure that you have the correct radio activation code before disconnecting the battery.

- Disconnect Battery Ground (GND) strap (-).
- Remove right side knee bar, held by five screws -bottom- and three catches.
- Remove air vent -6- by pulling it off its housing.
- Remove air vent housing -7- by removing two screws.
- Remove hex bolts -1-, then slide airbag unit cover -2- to right and remove. Retaining frame -3- does not have to be removed.
- Remove four hex bolts -4-, remove passenger's side airbag unit -8-and disconnect airbag unit connector -5-.

Installation:
- Connect airbag unit con nectar -5- to passenger's side airbag unit -8- and install passenger's side airbag unit with four hex bolts -4-. Torque to (bolts -4-): 6.5 Nm (58 in lb)
- Install airbag cover -2-: align four pins -9- with holes in frame -3-, than slide cover to left and install hex bolts -1-.
- Install air vent housing -7- using two screws, then install vent -6-.
- Install right side knee bar.

CAUTION: Ensure that there is no person inside the vehicle during this operation.

- After all driver's side airbag components are installed:
- Switch ignition ON.
- Connect battery Ground (GND) strap (-).
