About Trouble Codes

- The tables in the images list all possible malfunctions that can be detected and stored by the airbag control module -J234- and printed out by the VAG 1551 Scan Tool according to the 5-digit Diagnostic Trouble Code.
- The number of the DTCs and blink codes only appear in the printout (5-digit DTCs and 4-digit blink codes).
- Before you replace a component that you suspect to be faulty check all appropriate wiring, component connections, harness connections and Ground (GND) connections according to the applicable wiring diagram.
- Check that all relay connections are secure.
- After the repairs, check the DTC memory again using the VAG 1551 Scan Tool and erase the memory
- The DTC table can also list the malfunction involved.
