Testing Check Valve

Fuel Pump Check Valve, Testing
- VAG 1348/3A Remote control connected.
- VAG 1318 Pressure gauge connected.


NOTE:This test also checks the connections of the fuel supply line from fuel pump/sender unit to the connection of pressure gauge VAG 1318.




- Close pressure gauge valve (lever in line with flow direction).
- Operate VAG 1348/3A remote control in short intervals.
- Pressure must reach approx. 3 bar (44 psi).
- If pressure builds up too high, reduce pressure carefully by opening pressure gauge valve.


CAUTION: When valve lever is moved, fuel may spray from open connection on gauge. Use container to catch fuel.


- Note pressure drop:
- After 10 minutes pressure must not drop below 2 bar (29 psi).
- If necessary, check hose connections for leaks or replace Fuel Pump/Fuel Level Sensor.
