SECTION C - ECM Reprogramming





- Disconnect VAS 5051/6 cable from vehicle
- Press "Go To" button on VAS 5051
- Select "Exit"
- Insert CD ROM, 1J0 909 961, into VAS 5051 -arrow-

NOTE: To ensure work completion, VAS 5051 must be connected to a 110V supply, before VAS 5051 internal battery loses required voltage





- VAS 5051 Start-up screen: press "Applications" button -arrow-
- Step-by-step instructions for reprogramming ECM will follow





- Select - "Start application of CD ROM"





- Select and press applicable language button





- Press "Continue" button





- Open cover and connect VAS 6103 cable to VAS 5051 -arrow-





- Connect VAS 5051 to data link connector in vehicle using "special" VAS 6103 cable
- Press "Continue" button





- Turn ignition ON
- Press "Continue" button and wait for "Programming progress" screen

- After program has run completely, this message appears at the bottom of the screen, in a green box.

NOTE: VAS 5051 will automatically reboot to the Start-up screen.





- If ECM does not need reprogramming, this message will appear at the bottom of the screen, in a blue box. No further work is required.

NOTE: VAS 5051 will automatically reboot to the Start-up screen.





- If this message appears in a red box at the bottom of the screen, reprogramming is not necessary.

NOTE: VAS 5051 will automatically reboot to the Start-up screen.

- Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position and disconnect VAS 6103 cable from vehicle
- Proceed to SECTION D
