Condition

CD bracket rubs against rear harness.

This procedure applies between:

VIN 3VWRC29M7XMOO1 540 and
VIN 3VWSC29M3XMO1 5453





Materials required

CAUTION!

Service

- Remove luggage compartment floor carpet.

- Remove lock carrier trim and spare tire noise absorber.

Left side luggage compartment carpet, removing





- Remove clips (1).

- Remove screws (2).

^ Tightening torque 8 Nm.

- Disconnect luggage compartment light harness (arrow).





- Remove CD bracket cover (1).

- Verify if harness is protected by harness tape wrap at (arrow).

If harness is protected by tape wrap:

- Reinstall carpet no other work is required.

If harness is NOT protected by tape wrap:





- Disconnect harness connector (1).

- Remove screws (3).

^ Tightening torque: 6 Nm

- Remove CD bracket (2).

Note:
When reinstalling the bracket, use new screws part No: N 015 945 1.





- Wrap harness approx. 80 mm (3.15 in.) with adhesive felt -a- Part No: 53386791OA from end of plastic conduit as shown (inset).

Note:
Harness fastening clip should not be removed.

- Install all parts in reverse order of removal.

Note:
When re-installing the carpet, new clips Part No.: 1JO 867 597 02S and 191 867 199 O1C must be used.
