Cruise Control: Description and Operation

Function
Cruise control function on vehicles with engine code ALH are controlled entirely by the Diesel Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) Engine Control Module (ECM) -J248-. There is no separate control module for the cruise control.

The only additional components are the Cruise Control Switch (E45) and the Button for Cruise Control (set) (E227) in the turn signal switch stalk. These components can be checked with the following procedure.

In case of cruise control function complaints, the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) of the Diesel Direct Fuel Injection system must first be checked for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) first.
