Test sequence
- Remove oil pressure switch -F1- and screw into tester.
- Screw tester into filter bracket in place of pressure switch.
- Connect brown tester wire to Ground.
- Connect VAG 1527 B Voltage tester between battery Plus and oil pressure switch using jumper wires from VW 1594 adapter kit.
If LED lights up:
- Replace oil pressure switch -F1-.
If LED does not light up:
- Start engine and slowly increase engine speed.
At 0.75 to 1.05 bare LED must light up. If not replace oil pressure switch -F1 -.
- Increase engine speed further.
At 2000 rpm and an oil temperature of 80°C oil pressure must be 2.0 bar minimum.

Note: At higher engine speeds, oil pressure must not exceed 7.0 bar. If necessary replace oil pump cover complete with pressure relief valve.
