Special tools and equipment
^ VAG 1342 oil pressure tester
^ VAG 1527B voltage tester
^ VW 1594 connector test kit

Test sequence





- Remove oil pressure switch -F1- and screw into tester.
- Screw tester into oil pan in place of oil pressure switch.
- Connect brown wire of tester to Ground (GND).
- Connect VAG1527B voltage tester using adapter cables from VW1594 connector test kit to battery positive (B+) and oil pressure switch -F1-.
- Start engine and increase engine RPM slowly.
At 1.2 - 1.6 bar (17.6 - 23.5 psi) LED must light up.
If LED does not light up.
- Replace oil pressure switch.
- Increase engine RPM.
At 2000 RPM and oil temperature of 80°C (176°F) the oil pressure should be at least 2.0 bar (29.4 psi).
