Lock Cylinder With Inner Profile Keys, Removing And Installing
Removing
- Remove door handle.
- Clamp door handle at ignition key in a vise with protective pads.
- Push down paddle - 1 - in direction of - arrow -.
- Pull out locking washer - 2 -.
- Remove paddle and spring.
- Remove mount - 1 - and coupling plate - 2 - from lock cylinder housing.
- Rotate lock cylinder - 1 - about 90 °.
- Make sure that lock cylinder sleeve - 2 - does not turn with it.
- Remove lock cylinder.
Installing
- Insert lock cylinder into door handle.
- Clamp door handle in vise with protective pads.
- Attach mount - 1 - and coupling plate - 2 - on lock cylinder.
- Install torsion spring - 1 - into lock cylinder housing so that torsion spring end points toward rear.
- Position Assembly tool T10009 with narrow slot - arrow - onto torsion spring - 1 -.
- Press down outer sleeve of Assembly tool T10009 until it makes contact on mount - 1 -.
Assembly tool T10009 is depicted with a cut-out section to clarify following assembly steps.
- Turn Assembly tool T10009 180 ° toward right until slot - arrow - points toward front.
- Press down center rod - 1 - of Assembly tool T10009 . Doing this compresses torsion spring.
- Torsion spring end springs out of slot in assembly tool and locks in mount.
- Now, carefully lift outer sleeve - 1 - of Assembly tool T10009 .
Now center rod - 2 - becomes visible, which is slid over lock cylinder.
- Lift Assembly tool T10009 far enough until groove in lock cylinder becomes visible.
- Torsion spring - 1 - must be engaged in mount - arrow -.
- For assistance, torsion spring can be pushed into slot in lock cylinder using a low screwdriver.
- Remove assembly tool.
- Place paddle on torsion spring and press downward.
- Torsion spring disengages from slot in lock cylinder via circular motions and can be compressed further.
- Insert locking washer.
- Perform function test.
